If you want to control the energy consumption of a building, it can be done in several ways. One of the ways to create a sustainable architecture<\/strong><\/a>: the envelopes. Today, in NIBUG<\/strong> we tell you the role they play.<\/p>\n

What is an architectural envelope?<\/h3>\n

The surround\u00a0is the skin of the building. In ancient architecture, the facade was a heavy element and supported the structure. However, it now acts as a sunscreen or against the wind. The envelopes can even be used to make an architecture, saving for the energy consumption of the building.<\/p>\n

\nOne of the premises of NIBUG<\/strong> is to take advantage of the local resources to be able to take full advantage of the natural resources that the environment offers. For this, several factors must be taken into account:<\/p>\n

  • The maximum use of natural light<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • The life cycle of the building<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • The duration and maintenance of the materials.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The enclosures absorb heat and air. It does screen and allows the building to adapt to the weather. The role of the envelope should be:<\/p>\n

    • Regulating the temperature with the outside<\/li>\n
    • Filter the sunlight<\/li>\n
    • Control the direction of the winds<\/li>\n
    • Take into account resistance and stability<\/li>\n
    • Help the natural ventilation of different areas.<\/li>\n
    • Allow natural lighting to improve user comfort.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Thus, we must note that not all envelopes or all paintings serve for all buildings.
