When renting or buying a home, one of the factors to look at is the orientation. Why? Because it will greatly affect our savings. In the process, the construction will affect the sustainability of the building and the use of the different rooms. Do you want to know more? Keep reading NIBUG!
Sustainable construction: the orientation
It may seem unimportant, but the more hours of sunshine the home, the energy expenditure will be lower, because it is better to heat the home with a source of clean energy like the sun that force the use of heating.
Where do we orient the house?
- Orientation North: In summer, the tenants will enjoy the sun during the first hour of the morning and the last of the night.
- Orientation Northeast: during spring, summer and autumn we have it only at noon. However, homes oriented in the northeast have no sun during the winter months.
- Orientation Northwest: it is the coldest, because in winter we will not have sun and during the rest of the seasons we will only be able to enjoy it from the noon until the dusk.
- Orientation South: this is the best orientation. The sun is during the central hours, that is, the hours that it warms, during the seasons of autumn, winter and spring.
Orientation Southeast : every day, all year round until noon. - Orientation Southwest: during the winter months we will enjoy the sun all year round and during the rest of the year… from noon.
- Orientation East: the orientation allows to have sun all year until half of the day.
- Orientation West: from noon.
Another factor to take into account to make a sustainable construction is the region, because it is not the same to locate the house to the north that in the south, perhaps in the north we will seek an orientation to take advantage of the sun and the incidence that this one has to warm Housing and save that in a region further south, we may seek to take advantage of the sunlight, but areas of housing to “live” that refresh more. A sustainable construction is one that takes advantage of all the factors to create greater energy savings.
